Singaporean artist and illustrator William Sim says his recent watercolor illustrations are inspired by the Malay colloquial term Masak-Masak, or children’s pretend play cooking. These intricately drawn home scenes paint a picture of cozy living. There is a sense of the viewer happening upon these quirky houses in the woods by chance. Each home looks as if it was built by hand, designed section by section as needed. What impressions do you get from these images?
